Dear Residents,
Following the departure of one of our esteemed colleagues, a vacancy has arisen for the position of Councillor for Rowlands Castle Ward within the Parish Council. It is looking for enthusiastic members of the community who would like to join its collaborative team. Please note the post is not party-political.
The main roles of the Council are, proactively, to:
* Care for the interests of the Civil Parish and manage its assets such as the Recreation Ground, the Parish Hall, the Village Green, Rowlands Copse and other open spaces * Identify and implement improvements in the Parish within the powers of the Council. * Comment on planning matters and liaise with local representatives both political and from a variety of organisations that deliver services in some form to residents
Some of the Issues The parish Council is addressing are:
* EHDC’s Local Plan proposals for increased housing within the Parish; * Effective spending of developer’s contributions held by EHDC and HCC; * Continuing to support SpeedWatch and Hampshire Police using data collected from speed cameras to pursue those caught speeding, especially ‘persistent offenders; * Southern Water’s Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project; * Updating the Pavilion and provision in the Recreation Ground; * The impending Local Government Re-organisation.
