Dear Readers, This is a reminder that the consultation period for responses to the 4 options proposed by the Government as potential solutions to Local Government for Hampshire and the IoW ends on Sunday 11th January. The Parish Council has submitted its 4 responses on those proposed options and copies of these responses are on our website for your information at the following link: www.rowlandscastlepc.org.uk/local-government-reform-affecting-all-residents-current-consultation-responses-from-rcpc/ This is a very important consultation that will determine how we are governed locally in the future. You are strongly encouraged to read our responses for your information and then develop and submit your responses in your own words. Note that Option 1A has our parish, Horndean and Clanfield parishes incorporated within the proposed UA encompassing Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth, which the Parish Council (and the other PCs) strongly opposes in view of the imbalance between urban and rural interests. RCPC’s preferred option is the one put forward by HCC and EHDC working together, as being financially sensible and produced with due regard to the Government guidance. This is known as The Alternative Option as it is the only one with 3 mainland UAs, the rest all having 4 mainland UAs.
