Notice has been received from Portsmouth Water that works to renew Rowlands Castle water mains at Woodberry Lane and Glen Dale are due to be carried out by their contractor Cappagh. This will be up Woodberry Lane from the junction with Glen Dale to the railway bridge, and also into and along Glen Dale. The work will also renew valves, hydrants and supply pipes between the mains and individual properties. The works are due to start on Monday 14th September and to last for approximately 6 weeks.
Initial work will be at Glen Dale, access to properties will be maintained at all times during the works. Portsmouth Water has delivered separate letters to those properties most affected. The letter indicates that a small number of properties may experience a short interruption to water supply (under 3 hours) when their supply is transferred onto the new main or when any mains connections are required to be carried out. Portsmouth Water has advised that anyone affected will receive a minimum of 48 hours advance notification and confirmation once the supply is fully restored.
