Know Your (Cashpoint) Limits #FraudFree2026

1 minute
Dear Residents,
A useful communication from Hampshire Police.
Good afternoon, If, like me, you’ve had your cashpoint card for years and the daily cashpoint withdrawal limit was £50, you may not realise that some banks/building societies allow you to withdraw up to £1000 per day. We regularly receive reports from residents of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight who have been distracted in some way whilst withdrawing cash, their card stolen, and used to withdraw up to their daily limit before they get the chance to cancel their card. Most banks/building societies are happy for you to set a lower daily limit on daily cash withdrawals to minimise losses in the event your card is stolen. If you don’t use online banking, contact your bank using the number on the back of your card to discuss a suitable daily limit that meets your needs.
Please do share this important update with friends and family and encourage them to sign up for their own Hampshire Alert: www.hampshirealert.co.uk/<s-url.co/nLsuAA>
Kind Regards
