*Every Village Has a Story… Discover Ours!* September 12th (11-3)and 13th (11-2), Parish Hall Did you know Rowlands Castle has a history filled with Norman knights, daring smugglers, thriving local businesses, and remarkable community spirit? Step back in time and uncover the stories and hidden in our village and the people behind them. Explore the archaeology of the Norman castle, tales of smugglers who once slipped through the surrounding woodland, and discover how churches, clubs, the Women’s Institute, and generations of local people shaped the community we know today. Learn how the natural geology of Rowlands Castle led to a thriving brickworks industry and browse a selection of our archives. You can find out our exciting plans for putting the archives online and how you can help. Whether you’ve lived here for years or are discovering the village for the first time, you’ll leave seeing Rowlands Castle in a whole new light. Please join us for a 20-minute guided walk around the village green where you can explore twelve interesting points of Rowlands Castle history. On both days, Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th, the guided walks will start from the Parish Hall at 12:00 and 13:00, no pre-booking required. We look forward to showing you around our village green! To commemorate their 80th anniversary, on Saturday 12th the WI will transform the parish hall kitchen into a 1940’s tea room complete with music, pinnies and tea and cakes! We will also be having a tombola with some amazing prizes to be won from Stansted House, The Harvester, Barbers on the Green, Hall’s Garage, Bumblebee, Physio-Logical, RC Hardware Store, Hobby Craft, Pets At Home, Wickes, and more! *Come along, uncover the past, and celebrate the stories that make our village so special.*
