Fireworks Volunteer Event Director Required.

Dear Grapevine Readers
The RCA Fireworks Display has always been the most popular event in the RCA calendar. It also generates, by far, the largest proportion of the funds we are able to distribute to other clubs, organisations and worthy causes in the village each year. This year it seems we will have to cancel the event to the detriment of both those who enjoy it and those who benefit from it financially. Why is that? Your very small RCA Committee is trying to do far too much with the personnel we have available and despite numerous appeals for help, most recently at the AGM and in the Spring 2026 “Village & Valley” magazine, we have not had much success in recruiting new people to help.
If the Fireworks are to go ahead we need someone with the time, ability and enthusiasm to take on the role of Event Director to prepare for and project manage this event, starting the process in May and continuing right through until November.
We already have a Fireworks Project Management Plan and a timetable of tasks that need to be carried out, which has been developed over a number of years, to draw upon and Pete Rhymes, who was Event Director last year is happy to discuss what the role entails and to provide ongoing advice and support in carrying it out.
If you think you might be able to help, please contact the Rowlands Castle Association Chair – Chris Stinton, chair@rowlandscastle.com or Pete Rhymes, pete@rowlandscastle.com
By taking on this role you would be benefitting your community greatly and safeguarding the continuance of a highly regarded local tradition. If, alternatively, you think you could assist a person taking on this role in any supporting capacity we would also like to hear from you.
Thank-you Chris Stinton RCA CHAIR
