*COMPTON FILM CLUB*
*Wednesday 28**th** October *
*TUNER*
We had a great turnout for our September film *The Christophers* starring Ian McKellen as a reclusive artist and Michaela Coel as Lori – a forger enlisted by his estranged children in a bid to secure an inheritance for themselves. With a witty script and an atmospheric London setting this was a strong start to the autumn.
On 28th October we are showing *Tuner*, a film about a piano-tuning/safe-cracking duo starring Dustin Hoffman and Leo Woodall. It’s a ‘fun thriller’ and one we thought you would all enjoy. ‘Leo Woodall’s breakout TV roles in *The White Lotus *and *One Day* offered a megawatt charisma, but for his biggest film role to date he dims it to a soft glow with a gentle performance opposite Dustin Hoffman as one of a pair of New York piano tuners. And what a pair they are; they are a real pleasure to watch in an easy, unforced drama that mixes rom-com moments with a relaxed crime thriller.’ *The Guardian*
Come and join your friends, neighbours and fellow film enthusiasts. Refreshment and chat beforehand – the bar opens at 7.30pm, films starts at 8pm.
*Emily, Jude, Julia, Steph and David*
*Compton and Up Marden School Hall, School Lane, Compton, PO18 9EZ *
*There is plenty of parking in the school grounds, the hall and pay-bar open at 7.30pm and the film showing starts at 8pm. Tickets £6 (cash preferred)*
