As the evenings get a bit warmer the toads are making their annual migration from the fields and woodland near Stansted to reach the lake on the other side of Broad Walk. Some of the toads manage to cross the road safely but many are sadly squashed by drivers who don’t see them.
Please take care when you’re driving down Broad Walk during the evening between the sawmills and the bottom of the road.
Please consider getting involved with the toad patrol, helping toads to get safely across the road. You only need a high viz jacket, a bucket and a good torch and training will be given. Please contact Dr Ray McGlone on drrmcglone@gmail.com if you would like to help.
