This coming Saturday, 27th June 2026 there will be a short ceremony on The Green starting at 10.45 to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
In a world that can seem increasingly uncertain, Armed Forces Day is a chance to come together and recognise the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces. It’s a moment to thank those who serve and have served, recognise veterans, reservists, cadets and military families and celebrate the contribution they make to our country and communities.
Whilst the day is a time for celebration, it’s also a reminder that many veterans and their families still face daily challenges and need support long after their service ends.
The Royal British Legion stands with the Armed Forces community every day of the year, helping veterans and their families rebuild, recover and find the peace they deserve. With your support, they can reach more veterans when they need it most. Whether you donate at our stand outside Londis and on The Green that day, volunteer to help during Poppy Week, fundraise or simply take a moment to show your support, every action helps make a difference.
Thanks to Sarah Mayes and to raise money for the Royal British Legion, The Castle Inn will be holding a meat raffle at 17.00 on Sunday 21st June the proceeds of which will all be donated to the charity.
