Vacancy for One/Two Administration Officers Parish Council and Parish Hall

Hours: 21.5 hours per week. Parish Council Administration Officer and 10 hours per week Parish Hall Administration Officer – flexible across the working week.
Location: These posts are based in the Parish Council Office at 11 The Green, Rowlands Castle (above Home Hardware) and the Parish Hall in Links Lane.
Salary: £29,312.95 per year pro rata
Benefits: Contributory Pension Scheme: Employee 5%, Employer 3%
Work Location: Office based but with some flexibility
Rowlands Castle is a medium-sized Parish in south-east Hampshire with 9 councillors and an electorate of c 2,600. The Council generally meets on the first Monday of every month, though this can vary depending on public holidays, and has a recess during the month of August. The Parish Hall has a large and a small hall and a boardroom style upper room which are all available for hire. It also has a stage for hire in the large hall. There are also changing facilities and a kitchen.
What we seek Both of the roles carry individual, wide-ranging responsibilities and the need for the post holders to use their initiative and be proactive. We are looking for people seeking a fulfilling job as part of a small dynamic team of officers and councillors. These roles offer an excellent opportunity for individuals with office administration experience and strong organisational, IT, numerical and interpersonal skills to contribute to the local community and its governance.
Parish Council Administration Officer Duties include the day-to-day handling of written and verbal correspondence, managing the internal planning application process, provision of various reports, assisting the Clerk with payroll and accounts, administering speed watch data, interaction with residents and councillors, coordination of the procurement, installation and maintenance of certain council assets, coordination of tree and hedge and other works.
Parish Hall Administration Officer Duties include day to day operations, responding to enquiries, managing bookings, providing hirer inductions, financial administration including invoicing and record keeping, and the provision of reports to the Parish Hall committee, ensuring processes are documented and current.
It is possible that these roles can be combined into one role for the right candidate.
The successful candidate/s will provide essential support to the Clerk in public interactions, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the Parish Council and Parish Hall. Both roles will report into the Parish Council Clerk as a valued member of the team
