Walking Football Invitation – Free Event

2 minutes
Hampshire Football Association and existing village walking footballers are running a free welcome event in the Recreation Ground Pavilion 6 – 6.30pm on Tuesday 31st March. Over coffee and biscuits, come to find out about this low intensity social activity and its wellbeing benefits. There will be an option to take part in a free ‘taster’ session on the pitch at 6.30 if you would like to give it a go, or just watch the session if you prefer. The activity is designed for men over 50 and women over 40, with no upper age limit, but younger adults can also take part. We are operating this as a mixed, social community activity, not a serious competitive sport. All abilities are welcome and the emphasis will be on friendly enjoyment of the beautiful game without the stress of running, serious tackling or heading the ball.
If you choose to take part in the taster session please wear loose clothing or tracksuit or football kit, and boots or training shoes. If the grass is wet please have footwear with good tread or studs, to avoid slipping.
No booking is required to attend the welcome event or the taster session but to get an idea of numbers it would be helpful if you could let the organisers know: Julian Entwistle (julian_entwistle@hotmail.com) or Geoff Jacobs (geoffjacobs9844@gmail.com) or Hampshire FA (via hampshire-fa.com/RCWF).
There will be weekly sessions in the recreation ground on the following Tuesdays at 6.30pm and these can be booked on the above link. The sessions are currently free of charge.
We hope to see you there!
