St John’s Church

You may be glad to know, that there have been applicants for the post of part time Priest in Charge at the Parish Church. Interviews are being held this week, and as part of the process, the Area Dean Rev Andrew Sheard will be holding a service of EVENSONG on Wednesday November 6th at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and show their support for the applicants, and pray for them. Andrew will be familiar to many of our school children, as he and his team have been supporting St John’s School with Collective Worship for some time.
This Sunday November 3rd we also warmly welcome you to our All Age Service at 10 am. We hold these once a month, and they are less formal, with extra effort to engage younger families. Try us?
Next weekend, November 10th sees the annual Remembrance Service starting at 10 am in the church, and finishing around the War Memorial. We are expecting a live Bugler to play the Last Post and various local representatives will lay wreaths. You are very welcome to join us for this poignant memorial service. Refreshments are to be served in the Church Centre afterwards.
The Parish Council has kindly agreed to the Green once more facilitating a Carols on the Green Service with support from across the village! December 22nd at 2 pm. Be there! The RCA is kindly sponsoring musicians from the Blendworth Brass Band; the school PTA is this year lending their sound equipment, and also selling refreshments to aid school funds.
