Pop-up Museum

Following on from a successful weekend last year the Rowlands Castle History & Heritage we will again be contributing to the Heritage Weekend September, Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st with a Pop-up Museum, to be held in the Church-on-the-Green, 12.00 to 4.00pm.

The theme this year is the History of the Railway & the Station, our contribution to Railway 200, a celebration of 200 years of the English Railway System, taking place across the Country.
On Display will be; The Model Railway of course, plus new information boards, outlining our Stations History and development and what it meant to the Village and the surrounding area.

There will be other displays of topical interest, Children’s activities, but also with a very special Talk to be given by Peter Goss, the much heralded Master Railway Model Builder, from whom we bought our Model back in 2016.

He & his wife Julie, responsible for some of the scenery on the model, are stopping over in Rowlands on their way to France.
A must for anyone even with the mildest interest in Model making & railways in particular. This will be around 1.00pm, again the Church.
The talk title is ‘The (Railway and Military) Model – What happened next.. ‘
Peter will be bringing copies of his Book, which he will have on sales at a special discounted price, just for us & you. ‘Modelling Buildings By Pete Goss’

Lots to see & hear for all the family. We look forward to welcoming you all either on the Saturday 20 or Sunday 21 September , or why not both?
Last year we were the second best attended event in our area, after a well-known Museum nearby, with your help we can go one better this year!
Thank you.
