This month our speaker will be John Field, a retired solicitor whose talk is entitled ‘The Amazing World of Magic. John is a Member of the Magic Circle and was elevated to Associate Member of The Inner Magic Circle of which there are about 300 in the world.
You will see John perform the oldest trick in magic, learn about the oldest magician, modern day scams and how to avoid them and about the despair of magic in the dark ages. He will also reveal the father of modern magic and famous magicians of the past and present.
New members are always welcome so come along and check out the u3a – many people are unaware of its existence – it provides an excellent meeting place for those of a certain age who are no longer working and enjoy meeting up once a month on the 3rd Monday of the month to enjoy a get together which includes a talk and tea and biscuits.
