The next u3a Meeting will take place in the Parish Hall at 2.00 pm on Monday 17th March. Our speaker this month will be Sarah Shaw whose talk is entitled ‘ The Journey of a Guide Dog from Puppy to Working Dog’. Village resident Sarah and her husband Tim have been puppy raisers for over 10 years.

Guide Dogs for the blind Charity was founded in 1934 and over the years has developed a wide range of services with and without dogs to support people living with vision impairment. Guide Dogs is a charity almost entirely funded by donations and is the world’s largest assistance dog organisation. As world leaders in puppy socialisation and dog training they are the only organisation to breed and train guide dogs in the UK and are also the largest employer of specialists dedicated to helping children and young people overcome the challenges of sight loss.

Sarah’s talk will explain puppy raising and how they are trained to become the exceptional dogs that truly change someone’s life.

Hope to see everyone including new members (and visitors £3 at the door) on the day.
