Thank you again for all the contributions made in drawing up the draft Rowlands Castle Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan. Following the Public Consultation earlier this year, an Independent Examiner has recommended that, with some modifications, the Plan should proceed to a Referendum of Parish residents. These modifications have been agreed by East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), the South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) and Rowlands Castle Parish Council (RCPC) and included in the Plan. EHDC (with the agreement of SDNPA) has decided to proceed with the Referendum and has made arrangements for this to be held in the Rowlands Castle Parish Hall from 7am to 10pm on Tuesday 19th September 2023. Arrangements for the Referendum will be similar to those for the recent Local Elections; all Rowlands Castle residents eligible to vote in Local Elections will be eligible to vote in the Referendum, and will be sent polling cards as for Local Elections. Postal and Proxy voting will be possible. The question to be put in the Referendum is:

“Do you want East Hampshire District Council and the South Downs National Park Authority to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Rowlands Castle to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
