This year’s celebration of Armed Forces Day will be held by the Flagpole on The Green on Saturday 28th June 2025 commencing at 10.45.
The celebration is particularly poignant, as 2025 has just marked the 80th anniversary of the allies’ Victory in Europe, and will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan in August.
As in past years we are very pleased that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force Band will play during the Act of Remembrance which will be led by the Rev’d Clare Challis of St John the Baptist Church, Rowlands Castle and the Reviewing Officer will be Captain Philip Milburn OBE RN, and after the ceremony, Captain Milburn will present cadets, who have earned promotion or gained other qualifications, with their certificates. The band will give a short concert of military music for everyone’s enjoyment afterwards.
By kind permission of Lieutenant Colonel J Boutle RA, Commanding Officer 12 CSAD Regiment Royal Artillery, there will be a display of artillery equipment on The Green.
We very much look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the celebration to show your support to the wonderful men and women of all our Armed Forces, past and present.
