ARMED FORCES DAY 2025

Less than a week to go before we celebrate Armed Forces Day on The Green on Saturday 28th June 2025 commencing at 10.45.
The celebration is particularly poignant, as 2025 has just marked the 80th anniversary of the allies’ Victory in Europe, and will mark the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan in August. The special edition Royal British Legion Poppy to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day will be available before and after the Act of Remembrance.
As in past years we are very pleased that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force Band will play during the service which will be led by the Rev’d Clare Challis of St John the Baptist Church, Rowlands Castle and the Reviewing Officer will be Captain Philip Milburn OBE RN, and after the ceremony, Captain Milburn will present cadets, who have earned promotion or gained other qualifications, with their certificates. The band will give a short concert of military music for everyone’s enjoyment afterwards.
Sadly the military equipment display on the Green, by 16 CSAD Regiment Royal Artillery will now not be taking place due to military exigensies.
We very much look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to the celebration to show your support to the wonderful men and women of all our Armed Forces, past and present.
