The Rowlands Castle Heritage Centre will be holding its AGM on Thursday 16 November in the Parish Hall at 7.00pm. You are all cordially invited to attend.
You may have lived in the Village for many years or newly arrived, so the History & Heritage of the Village and surrounding area may well be of interest to you. The RCHC is the proud owner of an iconic Model Railway, which depicts the Village as it was in May / June 1944 during the build up to D-Day, buildings along the Green, Military equipment, Uniformed Troops and several of the then businesses, shops & pubs in very fine detail.
As we have no Centre as such, we can only display the model on ‘festive’ occasions normally in the Church-on-the-Green, so we have a Virtual Museum with a Website www.rchc.org.uk <www.rchc.org.uk> to which we are regularly updating with articles, stories and pictures of events from the distant and recent past.
At the AGM we will set out this year’s progress on developments, plus interesting and informative plans for 2024. Including increasing the ‘Childrens Section’ to which, as a Charity, we are pledged to add to every year. A long these lines we will be launching a Heritage Trail, a trip round the Village, with your mobile in hand, with facts, figures, dates etc and links to further details.
Next year is the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we are in early planning of an event to mark this very date.
So come along and find out lots more about our plans, refreshments will be available also.
Look forward to seeing you.
